This is a tale of an adventurous young fulla named Tom 'Chooch' Moore who a few years back, managed to navigate between the pylons which are located at the very shallow, rocky end section of a surf spot in Myponga. Myponga or 'Pongy' as it's referred to by local surfers, is a point break on the Northern end of Cape Jervis and it needs lots of swell and strong southerly winds for it to work properly. For it to break past the pylons, it needs to be quite big so for the feat of being able to successfully surf between the pylons, without crashing into them and breaking your board and possibly face, you are dubbed the "King of the 'Pong".
That day, Choochy was the King of the Pong and thus, a song was born.
